BOND RULE: Teams mandated to pay $200 bond prior to the tournament. This fee is completely refundable after the tournament only if the team conducts themselves in an appropriate manner on both the floor AND outside the rink. Any player fines etc will be extracted from this bond and the remaining balance will be refunded within 1 week after conclusion of tournament. The Referee-in-Chief on site will be handling all particulars with this bond fee.

ODD NUMBER OF TEAMS IN DIVISION PROTOCOL: Due to scheduling issues, if an odd number of teams are registered in a division, the last team to pay a minimum of a $500 deposit (doesn't have to necessarily be full team fees), the team will have to pay one extra game than the rest of the division. One of these games will not count towards their standings and this is determined by a draw after their 4th game played. Therefore, earlier you pay, the better chances you have to avoid this scenario.

Each Round Robin game in all divisions will be two 15 min periods run time with the last 30 seconds being stop time if the score is tied or within 1 goal.  Mercy rule:  If the game becomes a 7-goal spread in the second period, the game will be over.  Games that end in a tie will stay a tie (no OT, no shootout)

PLAYOFFS:
Every playoff game in each division will be two 15 min periods stop time.  Mercy rule:  If the game becomes a 5 goal spread in the second period, it will become run time.  Games that end in a tie will result in a 3-person shootout unless it's the championship game in which there will be 5 min OT first, followed by a shootout.

6.  Medical Info:

If any of your players have any allergies or have any medical issues please let us know so we can let the doctors who will be on site know.  Also, please have a list of health card numbers on hand at all times for all players on your team.

7.  Players playing on multiple teams:

This is ONLY allowed if the player is playing in a separate division and in a division with older players. For example, a D-divison player can play on ONLY ONE team in EITHER the B or C divisions, but NOT on a different team in either the SAME division nor in a LOWER division. The lower level player can play UP for 1 team only for ANY organization.
The said player must be on the roster form prior to the start of the tournament and will still have to pay fees as another player for that respective team as well.

8: SCHEDULING:

8a: Game times and matchups:
Due to the enormous response we get with registered teams in our tournament, it has become almost unfeasible to adhere to special scheduling requests in regard to timing and days for gameplay (out-of-town teams are the exception). Therefore a randomized scheduling system has been put in place. This means, getting your fees in early does not necessarily constitute better scheduling requests. Firstly, a schedule is constructed with just a series of numbers based on the number of teams. Thereafter, a randomized draw is then taken place live online to see which number is assigned to which team and thus, timings and matchups are set up like this to ensure no bias, nor any requests are being taken into consideration. Finally, from this draw, a final schedule is sent out with all team matchups and timings.

8b: 4-Game Protocol:
At The Salaam Cup, if any division possesses an ODD NUMBER of teams, the last team to pay their fees in that particular division will have to play 1 EXTRA game to make the schedule work. This 4th team is designated usually as the last one to pay their fees in their particular division.

The way this works is based on the following:

• all teams play the standard 3 games except for this particular team, which will play 4
• after the 4th game, the team representative then will have to choose a number out of a hat in a random draw

• this chosen number will then represent which of the games will NOT COUNT towards their standings

• this game only affects the team doing the draw - their Win or Loss will be eliminated, their goals for and goals against will also be eliminated
• final playoff seedings will then be determined based on the 3 games that were played
• this protocol ensures ease of schedule construction, prevention of forfeiting, not allowing 'throwing' of games, ensures proper level of play in all games scheduled

9: Jerseys/Uniforms

Teams are highly encouraged to bring a uniformed colour/style jersey, but if 2 teams are similar in colour, 1 team will be instructed to wear gold coloured pinnies. If a jersey or uniform depicts vulgarity or is not appropriate in any manner, organizers have the right to ensure the jersey is either not worn, or elements are hidden from view.

As final reminder:  All coaches and GM's must have original photo ID (passport, health card with photo, license etc) of their players so we can verify their age.  REMEMBER:  It's by year of birth, not by actual age.
Also, this is a Muslim-only tournament. All participants MUST be of the Islamic faith (ie. any sect). Just having a Muslim-sounding name, hanging around Muslims or just thinking about becoming Muslim are not good enough reasons.
