Salaam Sports:  Disciplinary Committee to address
Player Discipline & Safety

At Salaam Sports, we want to ensure the safety of all of our participants and want to put in place a quicker and smoother decision-making protocol when it comes to disciplinary measures at the highest impartial level. For this, we have set up a committee for all disciplinary issues at the Salaam Cup for all our ball hockey tournaments.

The Disciplinary Committee is headed by a Referee-In-Chief (RIC) and is a completely separate entity from the Salaam Sports Executive committee.  This will ensure an unbiased approach and will avoid any sort of conflict of interest.  Salaam Sports will not be dealing with nor making any decisions with respect to the suspensions and fines moving forward.  The committee (which consists of the RIC and his team of Officials) will deal with all incidents at all of our Salaam Cup Ball Hockey Tournaments and make decisions.  The Salaam Sports Executives will uphold those decisions and implement them and enforce them.   The RIC and his team may consult or ask for feedback from Salaam Sports Executive members, scorekeepers, volunteers, players or members of the community if they wish, but ultimately, it is the RIC's sole decision along with his team to make these rulings at all Salaam Cup Ball Hockey Tournaments.

APPEALS

Please note that if a formal complaint has been filed in regards to a team carrying illegal players, the REFEREE-IN-CHIEF holds the authority to conduct an investigation before, during or after any game whereby each and every player must possess necessary documents to prove that they do in fact belong on the roster. Such a complaint will cost the complainant $50 as officials will have to take out valuable time during a hectic tournament to cater to your investigation request. Also take notice, that the Referee-in-Chief has the choice on whether or not to pursue such a complaint.
